Tom is the  first-ever international driver to compete full-time in the TCR Australia championship, scoring a memorable maiden race victory at Winton Motor Raceway, finishing 8th in the 2023 standings.

Hailing from Cheshire, Tom embarked on his racing journey at the tender age of eleven. His initial foray was into the National Schools Karting Association, where he spent two years representing Tarporley Community High School.

At thirteen, he was competing in national MSA races, and over the next five years, he racked up an impressive list of accomplishments. These included clinching the Whilton Mill Club Championship, securing the NatSKA Class 8 and 7 titles in the same season, and making waves in the British Super One series.

In 2012, Tom made the leap to car racing, joining the Formula Renault BARC single-seater championship. His dual life as a racer and a student led him to pursue an MEng in Automotive Engineering with Business Management, followed by a further Masters degree in Engineering Business Management.

However, it was in 2014 that Tom truly hit his stride. He balanced his Supercup campaign with a debut assault on the British GT Championship, where he teamed up with Rick Parfitt Jnr. Their partnership yielded GT4 class podium finishes at Snetterton and Spa, along with a thrilling victory at Donington Park. Meanwhile, in the Supercup, Tom’s performance was nothing short of stellar: eight wins, 21 podium finishes (including an impressive streak of 17 in a row), four pole positions, and 10 fastest laps culminated in his well-deserved 2015 Supercup championship.

While results didn’t go his way in that series, they certainly did in the Supercup as Tom enjoyed his great achievement in racing to date. Across 27 races, Tom took eight wins, 21 podium finishes including 17 in a row, four pole positions and 10 fastest laps as he was crowned 2015 champion.

Tom Oliphant’s final stint in Ginetta machinery was a remarkable one. He clinched victory in the SP3 Class at the Dubai 24 Hour race, sharing the wheel with talented teammates. Notably, he had already secured a podium finish in his debut attempt at the same race a year prior.

Tom’s next move was to Porsche, where he embarked on a two-year stint in the Carrera Cup GB with Redline Racing. His consistency was awe-inspiring, with top-six finishes in 29 out of 31 races. Notably, he stood on the podium at the prestigious Le Mans circuit. Additionally, Tom showcased his skills in the Formula 1 supporting Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup and the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East, amassing wins and podiums.

In 2018, Tom made a pivotal career move by joining the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) with Ciceley Motorsport. His debut season in tin-tops yielded twelve points finishes and solid top ten qualifying results. His impressive performances caught the attention of Team BMW and West Surrey Racing, a dominant force in the championship.  Tom’s impressive campaign in 2020 laid the groundwork for his future endeavors. He secured a career-best second place at his home circuit of Oulton Park, along with a string of ten top-six results and two race fastest laps. With this solid foundation, he was ready to take on new challenges.

Oliphant’s second season with Team BMW was nothing short of remarkable. He kicked off the year with a bang, claiming a maiden victory at Brands Hatch and consistently landing on the podium. His stellar performances contributed to BMW’s success in both the Teams’ and Manufacturers’ titles.

Tom’s commitment to the sport remained unwavering, even as he announced a sabbatical in 2022 to support his fiancée Gen’s career. However, he made a thrilling comeback by entering the Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series after a brief hiatus.
